Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy

Common conditions and indications for vestibular and balance rehabilitation:

  • Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)

  • Vestibular Neuritis
  • Peripheral Vestibular Dysfunction
  • Acoustic Neuroma
  • Central Vestibular Dysfunction
  • Bilateral and Unilateral Vestibular Loss
  • Balance Disorders Caused by Other Conditions
  • Head Trauma

  • Complete history regarding symptoms
  • Oculomotor exam (eye movements)
  • Balance assessment
  • Muscle strength, range of motion, coordination and sensation
  • Gait assessment
  • Balance retraining exercises
  • Specific vestibular exercises
  • Supervised therapy sessions to monitor progress and continually challenge the vestibular, visual and balance systems
  • Repositioning (Epley's) maneuver for BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo)
  • A home program of individualized vestibular exercises

We use the latest technology available including the Biodex SD and infrared goggles. We also utilize evidence-based treatments that are individualized based on patients' symptoms and evaluation findings.

Aquatic therapy will be available at the end of June 30, 2020 as we install a new/state of the art pool at our Sugar Land location!
